Jiseung is a kind of basket or tableware made by twisting long pieces of paper with the index and the middle finger. In the past, paper was scarce, so after they have written something on the paper, they gathered them in one place instead of throwing them away. When scholars grew old and were free, they spent their time twisting Hanji to make Jiseung. The wisdom of upcycling resources is contained in the paper.
