Yugi

is the traditional brassware which had been widely used during the

Joseon

Dynasty (14th to 20th century) with characteristics that have been handed down for generations.
The production of

Yugi

known to be began in the Bronze Age and its technology has continued to this day. During the

Silla

(57 BC – 935 AD) Dynasty, there was a dedicated organization looks after the production of

Yugi

and the activities of craftsman involved in, also

Joseon

(1392-1910 AD) Dynasty controlled the process and supply of

Yugi

by having the factories under government control. The use of

Yugi

began to expand during the “Three Kingdoms” (refers to ‘

Samguk

’ dominated by

Baekje, Goguryeo

and

Silla

. 57 BC - 668 AD) Period. During that time

Yugi

mainly produced for religious purpose but began to be widen the purpose to tableware and kitchenware from the

Goryeo

(918 – 1392 AD) Dynasty.
   

Yugi

differs in surface texture and shape depending on how it is made. Also, as more use it, the more glowing and it does not bend or break easily.

Yugi

is very good at insulating heat also preserving the taste and nutrients such as vitamins and protein of foods longer that are known to be beneficial to the human health. It also sterilizing the harmful substance like bacteria that is potential to be inside of the food by releasing small amount of minerals.
 

Casting and Heat Treatment


Casting is the process of pouring molten copper and tin into a certain form of mold to make the desired shape of product. prepare the clay-based dough for the mold, then boil a crucible of iron that mixed at alloy ratio by the furnace. Place the mold on top of the base plate, then mix the clay with pine charcoal powder. when this is done, polishing and moisturizing the skin using a "

Yugi

Mo-ji-rae" prior to completing the framing work. the work that firing the furnace is being repeated for few times prior to completion of frame to ensure that the quality of the frame that determine the quality of final product. When the frame is ready, pouring the molten iron into the frame and complete the product.
   

Abrasive work


It is a process of shaping the product by smoothing the surface of product through extensive rubbing. this process allows

Yugi

to be glowing with its own unique delicate color. After abrasive work has done on the surface, complete entire production process by polish the skin.
